Yesterday was the big Invention Convention semi-finals at the BU Events Center. Kids from elementary schools all over the county came with their inventions to showcase them to judges and other fellow students. Potter brought a model of his sanitizing toilet, which for those of you who are interested, is his creation where the toilet can sanitize the water (only with #1 of course, #2 would have to just be sent to the sewer system immediately) and then recycle that same water for a period of time, or number of flushes, before the water is replaced, thereby saving thousand of gallons of water a year for each toilet installed in a home. It was a fun afternoon, seeing him be so grown up to speak with the judge who came to inquire about his project, and wandering around to see some of the ideas that other kids his age have come up with. Although Potter didn't make it to the New York state finals this year, I know that he'll come up with another great idea to enter for next year. We are certainly proud of him and how far he made it this year. Yay Potter!!!!!! (The steel drum band Molly took a picture of; they provided the music during the hour the judges were walking around evaluating the inventions)
