More Easter at Granddads

Granny had a keyboard and the kids love playing it. They had a lot of fun with it while we were there and now it lives in Potter's room on his desk! Thanks Granddad!!!

Went to feed the goats and cows everyday. Right next to the goat pen is a pretty decent sized lake with fish, frogs, who knows what all lurks under the algae. The kids all loved going on frog hunts and we were quiet enough once to actually get a picture of one before we scared him into the pond.

The great Easter egg dyeing party. Granddad's friend Carol had bought 4 different kits for eggs that each were a different effect. The kids were in heaven and we had a rainbow of cool looking eggs.

Playin' with the firetruck

Dave had a fire truck growing up that you hook up to the hose and it sprays out water. Potter has played with this for many years, especially in Florida, but we had warm enough weather this Easter break that we got it out of storage and let the kids play with it. They had a lot of fun, especially Caleb (who isn't in any of these pictures because he was napping) playing with this. It hooks up through a little red fire hydrant to make it even more realistic. When they wanted more water, both in pressure and in distance, we broke out the hose by itself and I nailed them well!!

Goats and cows - round one

Friday morning, the kids were clammoring to head over to feed the goats, which are just across the street and down a bit from Granddad's house. We took our bag of carrots and they were gone quickly, as expected. It never gets old for the kids to feed them!!! Just have to watch out for the electric fence! Made our way across the street from the goats to check on the cows. The Belted Galloways (oreo cows, Granny called them) are extremely huge up close. No kidding.

Arrival at Granddad's

After a long drive on Thursday we arrived at Granddad's house. A good night's sleep made Friday a fun day!! Around the house, the kids visited familiar things and made themselves at home.

Caleb loves Mac!

Potter and Molly enjoy the farm set (that has animals that are now, after years of play, legless)

Caleb writes his name for the first time

Too bad this was on a scrap piece of paper with political science mathy stuff all over it. But, if you look carefully, you'll see the 'b' on the left (it is a line with two circles on it), then you'll notice the 'c' at the bottom, the 'a', 'l', and 'e' are all together. I have been thinking he was a bit behind on his letters, but this morning, he really took an interest and surprised me.

Out of order.....

These pictures are out of order just a little bit....

Friday night, Dave had a reception to attend, so the kids had a 'p' dinner - a picnic with pineapple, pigs in blankets, and pasta. It was a lot of fun, and then we watched a movie afterwards!!

Caleb is 3 1/2, but still likes ears to hold.....

Potter's last basketball game was on Saturday. Molly went with me to cheer him on!! After the game, the coach gave each player a small basketball, which everyone autographed, and a certificate. I am sure that Potter will do basketball again, he had a great time, learned a lot of skills, met some neat kids!!

3D movie on a rainy afternoon

While Caleb and Dave were making slime, I took Potter, Molly and Neil to see 'How to Train your Dragon'.....in 3D!!! I haven't seen a 3D movie in a bunch of years. The glasses are so much better now; used to be cardboard glasses with one blue and one red lens, and they didn't stay on very well. These are actual heavy plastic and the lenses are dark, making them look like regular sunglasses. It was so much fun!!!

SLIME

This afternoon, Dave and Caleb had some time together. They found the recipe that Potter used last weekend at ICK to make our own slime!!! Of course, you have to make green slime, would any other color do?? Caleb had a marvelous time, both having Daddy to himself and the slime to himself!

Random pics from my iphone

I have some pictures from my phone that I am just now updating. They are from the past weekend, just a random mish-mash!!

The scoreboard from Potter's basketball game Saturday when they WON!!

High fives for the opposing team.
Dave found this new gin at our local Mom and Pop liquor store. He said that all the bottles of this come with these bowler hats on them. I think it is hilarious, and will buy the gin strictly to get the bowler hats.

Molly again as Madeleine Albright, but this time with the earrings and a cool necklace as well as the brooch!

Playing outside

Today was quite busy for the Clarks, mostly for Potter! We started out at the pancake breakfast at Molly and Caleb's preschool, then Potter went to basketball, where his team won their first game (!), and then Potter spent the day at the downtown BU center for ICK! (I'm a Complex Kid) which is the coolest science afternoon ever!!! The younger two kids, after Caleb's nap, spent 2 1/2 hours by themselves in the backyard playing. Can I just say how amazing they are together and how well they play? Kids NEED this unstructured playtime, either outside or inside, but outside is sooooo much better, especially since we are experiencing some fabulous spring weather right now! Caleb has become just as agile of a tree climber as Molly and Potter, a feat he is extremely proud of, being the youngest of the clan. These close up shots just melt my heart. **Love my kids**
